Cloth Diaper Review from a Cloth Diaper Swap

I was super lucky to participate in a Cloth Diaper Swap (mentioned in a previous blog). I received my "Fluffy Mail" and opened it with glee. My swap partner could not have picked a more perfect match for us! She sent us a Four Little Fluffy Bugs Upcycled T-shirt OS OBV Fitted. This is right up our Alley! I am a re-user! I love the fact that it is recycling and old t-shirt and giving it new life. I do this all the time! I have a 10 year old boy and his hand me down shirts turn into my 1 year old's new diapers. I find myself buying new clothes for Joseph (10) thinking about when he grows out of it it will be super cute as a cloth diaper.

Four Little Fluff Bugs OS Up-cycled OBV Fitted Cloth Diaper ReviewOverall this diaper is a fantastic fit for my lil nugget. The old t-shirt on the outside is a way soft, comfortable, and has that reminds you of home feel. It features the OS (one Size) fold down snaps to adjust to baby's rise. The body is made with the super luxuriously soft Organic Bamboo Velor (OBV) and a double OBV snap in liner. The tabs are extra long to fit around any beefy baby and have enough snaps to be efficiently snug. It is a surged diaper, but the edges are soft. No marks or chaffing from crawling or walking. I have absolutely no wing droop, due to the narrow front and snap options. After washing it a few times to get it ready for use...it plumped up and got even more squishy. I am really digging my new diaper. Find Four Little Fluff Bugs >>HERE<<.
Lastly I would like to thank Megan from www.newlywednewlybred.com for putting on this great swap and Katie from Think Pink for gifting me this wonderful fluff!

Cloth Diaper Swap
**I was a participant in an AWESOME Cloth Diaper Swap put on by a Lovely Mama, named Megan from www.newlywednewlybred.com
The Swap worked like this: Buy $25 (before shipping) worth of cloth diapers and/or accessories for your swap partner and mail it out on October 10th. We would all start receiving our Fluffy Mail around the same time. Review the items and post a comment/blog about the new diapering experience. I have to say that this was a ton of fun. No one had the same partner too. I sent diapers to a different Mama than the Mama who sent my new fluff. We should all start getting them this week!!!
Check out Megan's site and see what Cloth Diapers were given and received. I'm totally excited to read the reviews and see the pictures of what was sent out. I'm giddy for cloth.
My next post will be my NEW FLUFFY MAIL!!

Smells like October
October is my Favorite month....ever. Leaves change color, the season changes, time seems to almost stand still, and it's darker for more hours of the day (which I'm not sure why that is good...) Oh yeah and Halloween! I'm down with Halloween. I always dress up and try really really hard to make all of our costumes. This year is the same. We have been kicking around a lot of really great ideas. I think it's really important that the family all dress as the same theme i.e. Star Wars or Super Hero's. I can only say that we have been Star Wars characters for far to many years, so I'm digging deep to come with something extraordinary.
What are we going to do this year? Hmmm.....you'll have to stay tuned to find out.

Harvest Bin
I've been getting Farm Fresh fruits and Veggies delivered to my door twice a month from Dandelion Organic Delivery. I've blogg'd about them in the past. I want to say, I'm still a big fan. I am so proud of myself. I have been eating veggies that I never knew existed and I've been cooking some great meals. All the produce is Local and Organic, that makes me feel good too.
This is Jetson, my 1 year old. He attacked the Harvest Bin when I got it this week. He ate two plums and a Donut Peach before I could get the order put away. The kid can barely walk but figured out how to open the lid and take his pick.
This is a Roast I made, minus the roast. It was off the hook delicious!
mmm.. Yummy Purple Potatoes. These make great mashed potatoes, they DO turn out purple. Huge heads of lettuce, Broccoli and the cucumber in the bottom of the picture was SO large, I couldn't get the whole thing in the shot.If you live around Bellingham, Washington. Do Dandelion Organic Delivery. Do it! It's a great way to save time and money at the grocery, a wonderful way to support your local economy, it's flipping good for you and it's Organic. nuf said...

Cloth diapering and Camping. It can be done!

I was posting some photos to FB the other day from our camping trips we took over the summer. Someone asked what did I do without my cloth diapers? Jokingly, I hope. I then quickly realized that some may think this is an impossible feat to accomplish. It can be done. Granted it takes some prep work but really what doesn't? I stuffed a bag full of my cloth diaper stash, wipes, a few small wet bags and a couple of plastic grocery sacks.
It was fun camping and easier than I thought while cloth diapering. The poo diapers were to be dealt with later but the pee dipes were rinsed in the river and hung to dry. This cut down on smell and room. Of coarse i packed way to may diapers for two nights but if we would have ran out, the rinsed diapers would have been fine.
All the diapers packed up pretty easy hen done. The river dipes were surprisingly soft for being line dried. My poo dipes were...well poo'd diapers but all came out clean and fresh after the wash.
It made me think of Pioneer days. I was bent over the river standing on a stone washing diapers. Funny. My husband thought it was sexy. Who knew washing diapers was so sexy, especially in the wilderness?
